Love Eric, hated the venue.
40 minute line-up to get in the door. Concert started an hour and 5 minutes late, likely due to the seats being empty because it took so long to get into the freaking stadium.
Bag rule. 4.5 x 6.5”. My phone is 6”. Impossible to fit essentials like glasses, keys, phone in something so small. My small clear bag was confiscated which left me with the above stuffed into my pockets and worried all night they’s fall out.
Beer $15. Double bacardi and diet cole $25. Seriously? I wouldn’t have bothered with Uber if I’d known I’d only be having a single drink.
Let’s talk about the seating which is so steep you feel like you’re going to fall forward when you stand up and so narrow I was thigh to thigh with the large stranger sitting beside me. The woman in front of me kept flinging her hair into my single beer making it less than appealing.
Eric Church? So great!! It was clear he was really enjoying his night and so was the crowd. Fabulous. Joanna Cotton was mesmorizing.
So, since the concert started late I had to cancel my reserved ride home. Black hole in the arena wouldn’t let me connect.
Leaving, we were advised by a security guy on a golf cart that Uber wouldn’t pick us up at gate 6 where we were told to meet. He sent us down to AMC. Wrong. We then had to walk several more blocks to get to our driver. Luckily he waited for us.
What should have been a fun evening was marred by a lot of aggravation by Gila River Arena.
